Matt was born in Lowell Arizona on 4 June 1910 while his father and uncles worked in the Copper Queen mine--his older brother John and his younger brothers Chris, Vance, and Tom were born in Novi on a return trip that was elongated by the outbreak of WWI.

Matt died 25 October 1984. . .
